Kostantinos Milonakis
Accomplished Technical Trimix Diver and Dive Support Technician, bringing multi-sector experience and advanced technical skills to demanding underwater environments. Known for adaptability, precision, and dedication to safety. Born in Athens, 1980, starting out in a machine shop 1999 during 15 years of hard work on CNC lathe machines and moved to technical diving training, media & diving tourism in 2007. My accumulated experience counts over 6000 hrs of total diving, including over 800 hours of techical deep diving while the last 15 years i has done many collaborations with marine biologists and companies for various underwater projects , research, underwater mapping and marine constuctions.
At present, I serve as Skipper-Captain on a private motor yacht, with more than 10,000 hours of proven sailing expertise throughout Greece. Beyond my professional role, I invest my free time in teaching underwater photography and cultivating passions such as cooking and fitness.
In 2013, my video “Little Creatures of Korinthiakos Gulf” was recognized at the International Film Festival of Belgrade, receiving an award in the category “Ecological Topic”. The project aimed to showcase the delicate ecosystems of the Korinthiakos Gulf and raise awareness about marine conservation.
The following year, in December 2014, I received the Bronze Banja Luka Dolphin at the 1st International Underwater Film and Photography Festival DELFINFEST in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina, for the same video. I participated in the 3rd Underwater Photo Marathon in Zagreb, Croatia, achieving several awards: 2nd Place in the Macro DSLR category for my photograph of the siphonophore Hippopodius Hippopus. 3rd Place in the Overall DSLR competition, highlighting my consistency across underwater photography disciplines. 7th Place in the Fashion category, demonstrating versatility in creative expression.
In April 2015, I was thrilled to learn that my photograph of a larval fish (Macrouridae nezumia) earned 2nd Place in the Fish / Marine Animal Portrait category at the International Underwater Photography Competition hosted by the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine & Atmospheric Science.
